Manchester United are back in Premier League action after the team’s break in Dubai.

Jose Mourinho used the opportunity of a rare few days off to take his squad for a warm weather training camp and they arrived back in Manchester in good spirits.

United won their first two games of the calendar year, away to Everton and at home against Derby County in the FA Cup, and will look to make it a hat-trick against Stoke – who have just announced the appointment of Paul Lambert as their new manager.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan is with the squad, and could get a chance to impress amid United’s transfer interest in Alexis Sanchez , after Mourinho said he would ‘probably’ figure against the Potters.

The one point appears a decent result considering the standing of Malaysia’s opponents but there may be a feeling of disappointment that the Young Tigers did not collect all three points after taking the game to Jordan, who finished third in 2013 and reached the quarter-finals in 2016.

Having rued several defensive errors in the 4-1 loss to Iraq in the opening match on Wednesday, it looked like Malaysia had not learned their lesson when they allowed Jordan to take the lead in the 16th minute.

Malaysia play Saudi Arabia in their final group match on Tuesday.
