Brazil vs Peru final Copa America 8.7.2019
Brazil’s impressive 2-0 semi-final victory over Argentina has them within grasp of a ninth Copa América (CA) title – considering they are yet to concede a goal in this tournament, and thumped opponents Peru 5-0 during the group stage, their favorites tag is justified.
The footballing giants can be frustrated though, and failed to score within 90 minutes in two of their five CA matches so far – albeit those were the only games that they failed to find the net since the beginning of 2018. Honda MotoGP rider Marc Marquez took a seventh consecutive pole position at the Sachsenring, beating his own lap record from last year.
Marquez had a comfortable gap over his Q2 rivals from the get-go, taking the lead with a 1m20.575s with his first lap and then immediately pitting for his second bike.
His second run ended with him beating his own lap record with a 1m20.215s and he then switched tires again.
Fabio Quartararo put some pressure on Marquez as the session was coming to an end, but even his best effort of 1m20.400s was nearly two tenths off, and the Honda rider then improved again as the chequered flag fell.
