In round three of the Super League (MSL) this Saturday, the match at the Tun Abdul Razak Stadium, Jengka sees Felda United FC hosting Kedah. Last season the homeside finished runners up while the the visitors finished third, and the match is expected to be an exciting one, even without the current off-the-pitch controversy.
The two sides are currently embroiled in a dispute for Malaysia winger Rizal Ghazali’s services. The 24-year old reportedly tried leaving Kedah at the end of last season, signing for Felda, but then made a u-turn and stayed in Alor Star.
An incensed Felda understandably reported the matter to the Malaysian FA (FAM) player status committee, and the two sides are expected to hold a meeting on the matter sometime early this month.
In the meantime, the media reported that the rising Malaysia star will still be fielded by the Red Eagles head coach Tan Cheng Hoe in the match, and the Fighters can expect a tough time against Kedah, with Rizal on their opponents’ squad rather on theirs.
