Tottenham’s victory in the Champions League (CL) quarter-final first leg last week handed Manchester City their only defeat in 16 competitive matches (W15, L1 – including extra-time). In that sequence, nine of those wins were by a two-goal margin or more, highlighting their dominance against their opponents.
The ‘Sky Blues’ have only won two of their seven UEFA competition ties in which they lost the away leg first – their most recent loss coming against fellow English side Liverpool at this stage last season.
