Now solely focused on Premier League (PL) survival, Newcastle remain the second-lowest scoring team in the league (joint), and have been especially impotent in home PL matches, where they’ve managed to score more than one goal on just two occasions all season.
Cautious, or sometimes just slow to start, Newcastle have been ahead at half-time in just two of their 12 home league matches so far. This has contributed somewhat to the fact that (home and away) three goals or more have been scored in just five of Newcastle’s last ten PL matches, a rate (52%) maintained over the PL season as a whole.
