LIVE STREAMING EPL HUDDERSFIELD VS LIVERPOOL 20.10.2018
Master and apprentice go head-to-head at Kirklees Stadium as Huddersfield welcome Liverpool in the ninth round of the Premier League (PL). It will be the third time that Jürgen Klopp takes on former assistant David Wagner, with Liverpool running out 3-0 winners in both encounters last season.
Wagner’s side have been uninspiring at home this season, failing to score a single goal in their first four matches (D1, L3). One undesirable ‘record’ could be on the line for the ‘Terriers’ here, who can match Everton for worst home start in a PL season – a side that failed to score in their first five games in 1998/99.
They will be hard pressed to get a result in this fixture though, as Liverpool have the joint-tightest defence in the league having conceded just three goals, and are unbeaten in their eight PL matches so far (W6, D2). All three goals conceded, however, have come in away outings.
Against sides currently outside the top half, Liverpool have kept a clean sheet in eight of their last ten PL matches – and this season have won three of four such matches with a 2+ goal margin.
Players to watch: Huddersfield’s Danish duo Mathias Jørgensen and Philip Billing have contributed two of their side’s league-low tally of four goals.
Shotstopper Allison has conceded fewer goals in his first eight league matches than any Liverpool goalkeeper since 1962!
Stat attack: Huddersfield have just one win from their last 18 PL games (W1, D7, L10), with eight of those ten losses coming to nil.
Liverpool have been completely dominant in the middle-third of matches so far, with a goal difference of 7-0 between the 30th and 60th minutes.
The last five Liverpool PL matches produced nine corners or fewer – Liverpool have won five corners or fewer in six of eight PL fixtures this season.
