Brazil is waiting for which team will be meet in the final after yesterday, Brazil wins 2-0 against Argentina. Chile is in the Copa América (CA) semi-finals, and favorites to proceed by any means, having now won their last three penalty shootouts at the CA. The quarter-final stalemate with Colombia was Chile’s third match in succession to separate the teams by less than 1.5 goals.
Each of Chile’s last three penalty shootout wins in the CA have come after a goalless 120 minutes, but their recent CA record against teams currently ranked lower than themselves (W7, D0, L0 – GF 26, GA 5) demands a win inside the regulation 90 minutes.
Peru is also here after a goalless 120 minutes in their quarter-final, producing their fourth scoring blank in five CA outings dating back to June 2016. In turn, it is now three CA matches against higher-ranked opposition (as of June 2019) without a victory (D2, L1 – GF 0, GA 5). [Read more…] about Chile vs Peru 4.7.2019
