EPL match today Liverpool vs Crystal Palace today on 19 January 2019.

The battle at the top of the Premier League (PL) continues to simmer as Liverpool host Crystal Palace looking to build on their superb home form (W9, D1), which includes an active run of six straight victories. Impressively, the ‘Reds’ have scored three or more goals in six of their nine home wins.

A big factor in the home success of the PL leaders has been their blistering start to games, scoring within the opening 30 minutes in seven of their ten top-flight matches at Anfield this season. Furthermore, Liverpool’s tally of just three goals conceded at home is the league’s fewest, bettering the second ranked side Chelsea by six goals.

Crystal Palace head to Merseyside having won their previous two away league matches which included a shock 3-2 victory at defending champions Manchester City. In truth, the ‘Eagles’ have enjoyed the bulk of their success on the road this season, winning 13 of their 22 points away from Selhurst Park. Additionally, Palace have scored two or more goals in their last three away games.

The visitors have managed just one victory in their last six competitive meetings with Liverpool (W1, L5), conceding two or more goals in four of those matches.

Players to watch: Sadio Mané (LIV) has three goals in his previous three appearances against Palace – all came in the second half.

Palace have been awarded six penalties this season, and Luka Milivojević has converted five of them, including two in his previous two PL away games.

Stat attack: Liverpool have scored the opening goal in 77% of their league matches.
Twelve of Liverpool’s 18 PL wins have been ‘to nil’ (67%).
Palace have scored 40% of their league goals after the 75th minute.
There’s been a penalty awarded in each of the last two H2Hs.
