Midweek action saw Tottenham pick up just their second win in seven competitive matches (W2, D2, L3). Despite their underwhelming run of form in that sequence, they did average two goals per game. Their defense is improving too, having conceded an average of just 0.8 goals per game across their previous five competitive matches.
In the Premier League (PL), Spurs have tended to be quick out of the blocks, scoring 64.71% of their league goals inside the opening 45 minutes, taking the lead in eight of their 11 PL fixtures to date. Just three wins all season sees Everton languishing near the foot of the Premier League (PL) table (W3, D1, L6). A leaky defense continues to be a problem for the Merseysiders, who have kept just three clean sheets across their ten PL matches this term. Additionally, the ‘Toffees’ have conceded 2+ goals in six of those fixtures.
Regardless, Everton has scored 50% of their PL goals inside the opening 30 minutes of their matches. However, they struggle to maintain that sort of intensity in the latter stages.
